Floor Heating for the Connected Home

Posted by Chris Waldner on Jan 8, 2019 8:00:00 AM

nVent NUHEAT Signature is now the first WiFi-enabled line voltage thermostat to connect with all of these platforms: the Google Assistant®, Amazon Alexa®, IFTTT®, Nest®, and Control4®! In addition to the expanded compatibility, Signature still offers all of these premium features owners have come to expect:

  • Remote control via Nuheat Signature app for iOS® and Android®
  • Remote control via mynuheat.com
  • Live weather forecasts
  • 7-day programmability
  • Energy use monitoring
  • High resolution color touchscreen
  • Class A GFCI protection
  • 3-Year warranty

All existing Signature thermostats are compatible with the new integrations and owners can learn how to activate these functions by visiting www.nuheat.com/connected-home. This reverse compatibility ensures both new and existing owners can make any house a personalized, connected home.

Launching alongside these new consumer integrations is an application program interface (API) for developers and system integrators. This suite of hardware integration tools provides developers and integrators with everything they need to create custom connections for bespoke home automation systems and is located here: https://developers.nuheat.com.

The nVent NUHEAT team is demoing the new integrations at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from January 8 – 11, 2019. Stop by and see Signature in action at booth #41870 in the Wireless Devices & Services section on level 2 of the Sands Expo.

Our Signature Integrations

Works with the Google Assistant® – Control the Signature thermostat with any Google Assistant® enabled device including Google Home®, Google Home mini®, Google Home Max®, and Google Home Hub®.

“Hey Google, make the main bathroom warmer.”

“OK Google, set my floor heat to away mode.”

Works with Amazon Alexa® – The Signature thermostat can be controlled using any Alexa-enabled® device including Amazon Echo®, Echo Dot®, or Echo Plus®.

“Alexa, make my living room warmer.”

“Alexa, turn off my floor heat.”

Works with IFTTT® – Signature is now part of this popular free service, If This Then That® (IFTTT®). IFTTT® allows users to create chains of simple conditional statements, called applets. An applet is triggered by changes that occur within compatible web services, smartphone apps, connected devices, etc.

  • Create an applet that automatically turns off the floor heating system when you lock your front door in the morning.
  • Ask to get a text message whenever your floor drops below a certain temperature.

Works with Nest® – Save energy by using the occupancy sensors built into Nest® products to turn off your floor heating system when no one is home.

Works with Control4® – Control4® home automation systems are designed and installed by trained technicians.  Control4® systems are compatible with over 12,000 connected devices.

Welcome to the future of floor heat!
